Manufactured in the 1830s by Baccarat and Sevres, opaline was Napoleon's favorite glass and quickly made it sought after and priced that only few could afford opaline glass. These rare five are quite thick for bobeches and probably responsible for their survival in such great condition for approximately the past 197, nearly two hundred years.

Each has a diameter of 3 inches and is authentic antique French opaline. Later Opaline Veritable made by Italy to compete is less oily in appearance.
