Antique Bohemian glass snake vase, opaline glass, Gilt

  

A beautiful antique 19th century Bohemian glass vase. It is a slender yet grand vase in a goblet shape, white frosted opaline glass with golden gilt edging and accents.

The vase has an amazing coiled pink and gold gilt snake coiled around it in applied hand blown glass, the snake chasing a bee, also in gilt. The colours work so well together and this is truly a wonderful piece. A work of art in itself, with or without adding flowers. Unmarked, late 19th century, probably Czech origin. It is in good, used, antique condition overall with no chips or cracks, some light surface wear commensurate with age and use, a little wear to the gilding in areas.
